Demolition is only half the job. What most property owners actually want is a clean, level site — and that means every piece of the structure loaded out and legally disposed of. What Happens After the Structure Comes Down
A demolished building does not vanish. A modest house produces a substantial volume of mixed material — wood, drywall, roofing, insulation, metal, glass, concrete, and fixtures — and all of it has to go somewhere legal.
This is where cut-rate demolition quotes tend to fall apart. A contractor can quote the teardown cheaply and leave the debris as your problem, which is how property owners end up with a pile in the yard and a code enforcement letter.

Sorting and Recycling
Sorted material costs less to dispose of than mixed material, and some of it has real value:
- Metal — structural steel, copper wiring, aluminum, appliances, HVAC equipment. Recyclable and often worth enough to offset part of the job.
- Concrete and masonry — crushed into road base and fill.
- Clean wood — mulch or biomass, when it is untreated and unpainted.
- Cardboard and clean fill — diverted where facilities exist.
We sort where it is practical and where a facility is within reasonable distance. We will not overstate what gets diverted — in East Texas, mixed construction debris often has one realistic destination, and we would rather tell you that than claim a recycling rate we cannot back up.
Disposal Documentation
Everything goes to a permitted facility, and you can have the records. This matters more than people expect:
- Commercial and institutional projects often require disposal records for compliance
- Insurance claims may require proof of proper disposal
- Property sales can raise questions about how a structure was removed
- Any material requiring special handling carries a manifest by law
Site Grading and Restoration
Once debris is gone, the ground still needs attention. Removing a structure and its foundation leaves depressions, ruts from equipment, and a surface that will not drain properly if left as-is.
We grade the site so water moves away from remaining structures and neighboring property. Where the plan calls for it, we backfill and bring in topsoil so something can actually grow. What you need depends on whether you are rebuilding, selling, or leaving the lot vacant — and we will ask before assuming.
Cleanup After Someone Else’s Demolition
We take these calls regularly. A contractor tore down a structure and left the debris. A storm brought a building down. A property was bought with a partially demolished structure already on it.
We handle standalone cleanup of existing debris piles, including material we did not create. There is no penalty for calling us second.
Storm and Disaster Debris
East Texas gets severe weather, and the aftermath is rarely tidy. Downed structures, scattered building material, and collapsed outbuildings all need clearing before repair or rebuild can start.
