How We Work
You decide what stays. Before anything is loaded, you walk through and mark what is being kept. Family members can take their time with that. We would far rather wait a week than remove something that mattered.
We flag things that look important. Documents, photographs, jewelry, military items, and anything that appears to have personal or financial significance gets set aside for you to look at rather than loaded. Things turn up inside furniture and at the backs of closets that nobody knew were there.
We can work in stages. Some families want the whole house cleared in one day. Others need a month, one room at a time. Both are fine.
You do not have to be there. If being in the house is too much, or if you live out of state, we can work from a marked list and send photos as we go.
Before You Clear Anything, Check on Probate
Worth raising early, because it catches people out: if the estate is going through probate, there may be limits on distributing or disposing of property before the process is complete. Executors generally have authority, but the timing and the paperwork matter.
We are not attorneys and cannot advise on estate law. We mention it only because it is easier to confirm before the house is empty than afterward. If you are working with a probate attorney, a short call will settle it.
Donation, and What Might Have Value
Most of what comes out of a family home is still perfectly usable. Furniture, kitchen goods, linens, clothing, books, and working appliances go to local donation where a charity will take them, and we can provide donation receipts for the estate.
One honest suggestion: if the house contains antiques, collections, tools, firearms, or anything that looks like it might be worth something, consider an estate sale company or an appraiser before calling a hauling service. We are good at removal. We are not appraisers, and we would rather you find out something was valuable before it left the house than after.
Plenty of families do an estate sale first and call us for what is left. That sequence works well.
What We Remove
Everything not being kept — furniture, appliances, clothing, kitchen contents, garage and shed contents, yard equipment, and whatever accumulated in the attic over forty years.
The house is left broom-clean and ready to list.
Pricing
By volume, quoted after a walkthrough or from photos. A full house is a substantial job and we will give you the number before we start, not after.
If the estate is being settled and cost matters, tell us. There are usually choices about scope that can bring the number down.
